About Doe Valley Farm

"A Place Where Nature, Tradition, and Community Come Together"

Our
Story

We found our piece of heaven at 313 Stage Coach Loop in Mountain City, TN., a 75 acre Christmas Tree Farm. Our story starts here on Doe Valley Farm, with so many possibilities and breathtaking views. Just across the old bridge over Doe creek was a large tobacco barn, built in the 1930’s, I’m told, and held up by spindly trees growing around the support beams, greeted everyone that visited. A Black Walnut Forest with nearly 100 trees in 9 rows lined up like soldiers marching in a parade.

Then the Christmas trees started! Trees to the right, trees to the left all perfectly sheared. Trees growing on hills almost to step to climb. Thousands of Christmas trees, what could be closer to heaven.!

In the back part of the farm, A single path turned into a walking trail. Then on to a project that would soon lead to building a new one bedroom with loft cabin, a mile from the entrance of the farm, complete with all the comforts and water from the land. Soon after we added a very unique camping village with 3 “glamping” units. Tiny camping houses sleeping 3-6 individuals. These cabins were completed on the inside with our very own trees that we milled from the trees on the land.

The family started to grow and we knew we need to add friends for our dogs, Charlie the Great Pyrenees; Oscar the white golden retriever and now joined by two Labrador retrievers, Toby and Gunner.

Then the family continued to grow with a dozen chickens and the horses, Bella and Boone and Duke. Bella, Kate’s painted quarter horse is loving and full of life, Boone our Red Roan quarter horse needed a job with cattle, so eventually we had to trade him in for Duke, now this was the largest family addition! Duke is a Belgian draft horse at 16 hands and nearly 2000 lbs.

Next came the bottle babies, Bumper and Buster, you think we should have learned. OMG Goats! They took up residence in the house and just like your first born, they were lively, hopping around the house, warm and cuddly, they learned to listen, we spent many nights holding them like the baby kids they were. AND then there came the twins, Noodles and Doodles, truly the totally opposite personalities. Nothing else to say here but we expedited building their barn, complete with a playground with all the fun toys to jump on. They live peacefully right next door to the first glass chicken coop, complete with heat and a/c.!

Now for the Events Barn!! Over the last year and a half or so we have built the most amazing, beautiful, unique special event’s barn. Approximately 2600 sq. ft., two stories complete with a 320 piece crystal chandelier, a catwalk and 2 balconies, kitchen, 2 bathrooms and a complete sound system, with seating for over 100 guests inside; an outside porch leading to the courtyard overlooking a three-tier Amphitheatre seating for larger events. Some of our events so far as been Weddings, Easter egg hunt, Dad and daughter dance, Marine Corp birthday Ball, birthday’s, barn raising event.
